I spent my weekend watching a Salesforce earnings call, and it turned out to be about labs.
Six months ago the market was burying Salesforce. AI agents will eat SaaS, seats will disappear, CRM is a legacy tax.
Last week Salesforce printed one of its best quarters ever. AI portfolio ARR $3.9B, +210% YoY. The stock went up 22.6% in one day — the biggest jump since 2020.
Marc Benioff on the call: “this nonsense of the SaaSpocalypse — I think it's time for it to stop.”
The numbers are nice. The strategy is better.
He didn't defend the walls. He opened the system to agents — Claude inside Salesforce, Salesforce inside Claude.
Because he knows his own product: Salesforce is complex, and only power users get the full value out of it. Everyone else uses 20% and pays for 100%.
An agent doesn't have that problem. It finds the functions nobody clicks, and it works across CRM, analytics and finance at the same time.
One agent instead of eleven logins.
Your LMS is the system of record — the single source of truth for every case in the lab. Huge functionality.
And from what I see in labs, most owners don't know half of what their LMS can already do. Nobody reads the manual. An agent would.
So I'm looking forward to LMS platforms opening up the way Salesforce did. Not because AI is the trend. Because it is better for the lab — and the platform that opens first is the one labs won't leave.
LMS platforms — let's work together to bring more value to lab owners.
Please open your API. Lab owners will say a big thank you.
